On the Frontlines of Love, Care, and Compassion: BCMF Medical Mission

In a continued effort to support marginalized communities and demonstrate compassion for those on the peripheries, the Blessed Candida Maria Foundation (BCMF) recently conducted a successful medical mission in Fourth Estate, Paranaque City. This outreach initiative provided essential medical services to indigent families, reaffirming BCMF’s commitment to being a source of hope, particularly during this Jubilee Year.

The medical mission offered free check-ups and consultations to numerous patients, thanks to the generous support of volunteer doctors from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and OSPAR. Patients also receive free medications to help address their immediate health concerns and enhance their overall well-being.

This act of solidarity was made possible through the tireless efforts and collaboration of many volunteers. The BCMF extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate volunteer doctors who shared their time and expertise, the mission volunteers who organized and facilitated the event, Manresa School for its unwavering partnership, and the Hijas de Jesus Sisters for their continued spiritual and logistical support.

More than just a medical mission, the activity embodied the spirit of Christian charity rooted in the values of Blessed Candida Maria de Jesus when she said “where there is no room for the poor, neither is there room for me”. It served as a tangible expression of love for the poor and vulnerable, reminding everyone involved that small acts of service, when performed with great love, can have a significant impact.

Through initiatives like this, the BCMF continues to fulfill its mission—to serve, to accompany, and to be a source of healing and hope for those in need.
