High School Department Concludes Academic Year with Solemn Thanksgiving Mass
On March 12, 2026, the High School Department gathered at the Old Gym for a Thanksgiving Mass, marking the culmination of the academic year with prayer and gratitude.
The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Francis Andrew Balmaceda, OSA, on the Thursday of the Third Week of Lent. In his homily, he reflected on the Gospel passage in which Jesus casts out a demon that had made a man mute. When the demon leaves, the man begins to speak, and the people are amazed. Despite witnessing this act of healing, some accuse Jesus of working through evil. The Gospel reminds the faithful of the Lord’s words: “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
The message of the Gospel resonated with the purpose of the celebration. Just as the man who was freed from the demon regained his voice and experienced God’s power, the school community gathered to recognize and give thanks for the many blessings received throughout the year. The Thanksgiving Mass became a moment to acknowledge God’s presence in the challenges overcome, the growth experienced, and the achievements celebrated as a community.
With grateful hearts, the community expressed thanksgiving to the Lord for the graces received throughout the academic year.
