A Grateful Community: Celebrating Giftedness and Life at Faculty Consortium Day 2026

On April 10, 2026, the spirit of communion and gratitude took center stage at De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) as it hosted the highly anticipated Faculty Consortium Day 2026.

Bringing together the four Catholic schools of the Muntiparlas South Schools Consortium, the event served as a vibrant testament to the shared mission of educators from Muntinlupa, Parañaque, and Las Piñas. Under the theme "A Grateful Community: A Celebration of Giftedness and Life," the day was a masterful blend of spiritual nourishment, artistic expression, and professional camaraderie.

The morning commenced with a warm welcome message from Dr. Ruby Ramos, DLSZ School Principal, who set a tone of hospitality and unity for the visiting delegations. This was followed by a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB of San Beda College Alabang, reminding the assembly that their "giftedness" as educators is a grace to be shared with their students.

The spiritual atmosphere of the event reached a crescendo through a series of profound reflections and communal activities. The proceedings commenced with heartfelt praise and worship led by the DLSZ Music Ministry, providing a poignant moment for collective energy and quiet reflection. This set the stage for the Gratitude Talk, delivered by keynote speaker Br. Obet Cabrillas, PhD. His moving discourse emphasized the importance of recognizing life as a gift, inspiring faculty members to rediscover joy and purpose within their vocation, even amidst the complexities of modern education.

The program’s energy shifted seamlessly from the spiritual to the celebratory during the second half of the afternoon. The DLSZ Animo Squad ignited the crowd with a high-octane performance, followed by the Parade of Schools. This display of solidarity saw top administrators leading their respective faculties, showcasing a unified front of institutional pride.

The definitive highlight of the afternoon was the "Showcase of Talents, a breathtaking performances showcasing the talents and skills of teachers. Teachers from the four consortium schools brought history to life, featuring the disco grooves of the 70s, the neon energy of the 80s, the nostalgic hits of Gen Y (Millennials), and the viral anthems of Gen Z. Teachers demonstrated immense artistic range, proving that "giftedness" extends well beyond the classroom walls.

Interspersed throughout the performances was the raffle segment, where cheers erupted as lucky faculty members took home various prizes. However, the true "win" of the day was the sense of belonging fostered among the different institutions.

The event reached its emotional peak during the exchange of gifts, where performers and representatives from the schools shared tokens of appreciation with one another, symbolizing the "Grateful Community" the theme envisioned.

Between the performances, the Raffle Segment kept the excitement high as lucky winners took home prizes. But the real prize was the feeling of friendship between the different schools.

The day ended on a touching note with an Exchange of Gifts. Representatives from each school traded tokens of appreciation to show they are one "Grateful Community." It was a perfect ending that showed though they are from different schools, they are all part of one talented and united team.

The day concluded with a concluding message from the DLSZ Vice President, Mr. Rafael Javier Reloza, who thanked the participants for their dedication to Catholic education. As the faculty members departed, they carried with them more than just prizes—they left with a renewed sense of life, a celebration of their own gifts, and a strengthened bond with their peers across the south.
