Family Day: Two Days of Fun, Love, and Enrichment

MS Family Day this year with the theme- "Laudato Si. Harmony in Nature, Love in the Family" was held last March 16-17, 2024. In a celebration inspired by the teachings of Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si, families came together for two days of joy, learning, and togetherness. The theme centered around the concept of harmony in nature and love within the family, echoing the call for caring for our common home.

The festivities commenced with the opening ceremony, where the atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. Kinder pupils charmed attendees with an opening prayer sung and acted out, setting a heartfelt tone for the event. Adding to the spectacle, the Animo Pep Squad from De La Salle University delivered a special performance, igniting the spirit of unity and enthusiasm.

Sr. Joji Silorio, RCA, solemnly declared the beginning of FAM Day 2024, emphasizing the importance of family bonds and collective responsibility in nurturing a sustainable future. A highlight of the event was the presence of special guests from Rural Rising, who introduced "Box All You Can," allowing families to purchase fresh produce directly from local farmers, promoting community support and sustainable practices.

Throughout the two-day affair, guests were treated to different activities and attractions. Booths adorned with goods and foods delighted the senses, offering a taste of local flavors and crafts. From costume contests to sports tournaments, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Families embarked on a journey of discovery through the Green Initiative Exhibit, learning about eco-friendly practices and environmental conservation.

The stage came alive with performances, showcasing the diverse talents within the community. Teatrong Manresa captivated audiences with dramatic productions, while the Battle of the Bands and music contests filled the air with melodies and rhythms. The first day culminated in an Anticipated Mass, where families gathered in spiritual communion.

The second followed the same lineup of sports and musical activities. The MS Auditorium was the venue of the whole day's lively MFactor musical, drama, and magic contest, where familial bonds of both the elementary and high school were celebrated through shared talents and passions.

In the evening of the second day, families, especially the young ones and "young once" gathered for a grand finale. The concert by the renowned band Lola Amour brought the event to a triumphant close, uniting generations in the joy of music and celebration.

The Family Day 2024 celebration, themed around Laudato Si's message of harmony and love, brought families closer together in a spirit of joy and unity. From meaningful ceremonies to engaging activities, the event fostered a sense of community and stewardship, leaving lasting memories of fun, love, and enrichment for all who attended. This Family Day was organized and led by the able leadership of the MS Parents' Auxiliary officers and volunteers, in collaboration with all schools' Administrators, and the different sectors of Manresa, including the BCMF and adopted community of Fourth Estate. As Mother Candida would say: "Blessed be God who loves so dearly. and "In Jesus we have everything, without Him everything we have is lost."
